Q: Will Michigan Professional DJ provide a written entertainment agreement?
A: It is very important to confirm your booking in writing. Terms should be clearly defined in the agreement. Specifics of location, times, rates, method of payment, terms, extension of time, and other pertinent information should be listed in the written agreement to protect both parties.
Q: Is Michigan Professional DJ a part-time or full-time business?
I work a full time job during the week and DJ various events during the week and weekends.
Q: Can Michigan Professional DJ provide me with references?
A good DJ service will have current references. This is a good indicator of the quality you can expect. If you are not comfortable with calling strangers, ask if they have any Banquet facilities, photographers, or video services that recommend them. Most Banquet facilities, photographers and videographers work with a lot of different DJ services every weekend. You can always read the most current references on my References Tab.
Q: Will Michigan Professional DJ be dressed in the appropriate attire?
You can be rest assured that I will be dressed for the occasion. Shirt, tie and black pants for weddings and corporate events, and Khaki pants and polo for school functions (except proms and homecomings).
Q: How early will Michigan Professional DJ arrive to set-Up?
As a general rule, I will arrive a minimum of at least one and a half hours to two hours before the start of your event. This will allow ample time to test all components, make adjustments for optimal sound performance and to review your itinerary with the other vendors that you have hired.
Q: Will the DJ performing at our event meet with us in person to assist in planning our event?
Some Disc Jockey Services are focused on sales volume and have several DJs working for them, which can result in employee turnover. The Service may be unable to offer the skill, expertise and accessibility in planning your event and providing you with the personalized service that you deserve.
Another factor to consider with the prospective Disc Jockey is to inquire if they will ensure that the Disc Jockey you meet with will be the actual Disc Jockey performing at your event and they will not be sub contracting their work to another Disc Jockey.
MI Pro DJ is a single-op company, and you will be speaking with the same DJ from the first initial call, to the final dance. When you book me, you get me. The only way that will change, is if and only if I'm in the hospital and no way of being discharged. In 10+ years, I can honestly say this has NEVER happened. But if it ever came down to it, I will call up my closest DJ friend, and his successful business to fill in.
Q: Is Michigan Professional DJ equipped with professional pro audio gear?
What are some of the brand names to look for? NUMARK, DENON, EAW, EV, JBL, MARTIN, QSC, RANE, SENNHEISSER, SHURE and YAMAHA are the preferred professional choices of DJs. If the DJ tells you name brands that you can buy at the local electronic store (Best Buy, Circuit City etc.) chances are they are not using pro audio gear. Home Hi-Fi gear is not made to hold up to the demands of repeat performances of professional use. Personally MI Pro DJ uses a Numark Mixer, Denon Dual CD Player, QSC Amp for the Main Speakers (which are Yamaha's), and Yamaha amp for the Sub. And I use American DJ for all my lighting.
Q: What type of music is available?
Michigan Professional DJ has a monthly subscription to a vendor that provides a CD & DVD every month, packed with the latest Top 40, Country, Alternative, Latin, Christian and even Jazz selections similar to what Radio Stations are equipped with. I also receive a DVD filled with great Music Videos, if you're interested in expanding your event with Video. A great idea for school events, sorority parties and sweet 16 birthdays!
Q: Does the Disc Jockey accommodate song requests?
Michigan Professional DJ will make every attempt to honour song requests that will enhance your dance party. A skilled Disc Jockey will use his or her instincts, by reading the crowd and making the right programming decisions that will not disrupt the momentum and timing of your dance party.
Trusting your Disc Jockey to accommodate the appropriate song requests is vital to the success of your event.
Q: Once we have booked Michigan Professional DJ, when should we finalize our planning process?
Typically one to two months prior to your event is sufficient. It is necessary to verify the details of your event. Some of the pre-planning should include: the itinerary, musical selections, specialty dances, dedications and/or any other areas you may need assistance from your Disc Jockey.
